Our 5 to 7 day bicycle trips are designed for energetic biking fans aged 55 and above who want to enjoy travelling with like-minded people.

The daily cycling distances range between 30 and 40 km and are intentionally travelled at a comfortable pace. Pauses, picnics with regional delicacies, interesting excursions and presentations make for a very diverse day of bicycling. The routes are carefully chosen so that travelling is on beautiful countryside and on roads or trails with little traffic. Since Northern Germany is not completely flat, one should be in decent physical condition. The different trips velonobilis offers, however, are not as demanding as a low range mountain tour. If preferred, the few steep climbs can be completed on foot. Should one be in need of a “day off” the escort vehicle will be nearby.

Guests can expect fantastic views and nature experiences as well as a diverse cultural program, which is what makes the velonobilis concept especially unique. Velonobilis trips not only encompass tourist highlights, museum trips and concerts but also include exclusive tours that are only possible due to our personal contacts and knowledge of the region. Guests experience the personal contact with locals or the owners of beautiful manors. Extensive and well-informed seminars, which prove background information of the region, help add depth to the various activities. The cultural focus is to provide insight to the castles and manor homes, known as “Herrenhäuser”, of Northern Germany. Velonobilis has exclusive access to several manors, which otherwise are not open to the public.

During the trip, top-quality reliable touring bicycles will be provided. These bikes have an easy to use Shimano Nexus 7-speed shift system with a rear foot brake, Magura Hydrostop brakes, a low step-through frame and a comfortable gel seat, which is adjustable for your preference. The touring bicycles have excellent safety and riding features such as extra frame stability suitable for all terrain types and while cruising. While underway each rider will be provided with a roomy waterproof bike bag for their personal belongings. Luggage transport to the hotel and the use of our escort vehicle when needed is a part of the service at velonobilis as well.

A typical day will conclude with a multiple-course meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Overnight accommodation is always in a reputable, comfortable hotel and only under rare circumstances, in a more simple yet charming Bed & Breakfast. The trips are planned to minimize changes in accommodation, which is why routes are planned so that each day begins and ends at one central location. Staying in one hotel (sometime two hotels) throughout the trip’s duration eliminates the need to pack and repack bags on a daily basis and allows more room for relaxation and enjoyment.
