Frequently asked questions
| Print |
1. Where do the respective bicycle tours begin and finish?
The arrival location is the respective hotel stated in each tour description. All trips are organized so that they conclude in the same hotel where they begin. The arrival location is always identical to the departure location. Should you arrive by car, you may safely park your vehicle at the hotel carpark for the duration of your trip.
2. What is the best way to travel to the tour starting point?
After paying for the tour in full, you will receive detailed documents providing travelling directions to your hotel. Should you have further arrival questions (such as arrivals by train), please contact our cooperating travel agency, “Sonne und Mehr”, under the address of Holtenauer Str. 318, 24106 Kiel, Tel. 0049431-300010, info [at] sonneundmehr [dot] com. Our contact person there is Mrs. Grit Hameister.
3. Are personal bicycles permitted?
Velonobilis will provide you with high-quality touring bikes that accommodate varying body weights. They are complete with a low step-through frame and a 7-speed shift system with footbrakes and comfortable gel-seats. Of course, if you would prefer to bring your own bicycle with you, that is fine as well. Velonobilis will transport and handle your equipment with care. You will not be given a price reduction for bringing your own bicycle. Please take note of our company policy under the “AGB” section.
4. How will personal luggage be transported during the bicycle tour?
Velonobilis provides a waterproof and roomy bike bag for your personal belongings during the trip. While travelling, the bag hangs on the bicycle. You do not need to bring it with you when we stop to sightsee because one of the guides will stay to look after your possessions.
5. How long are the daily routes? What kind of fitness level should one have for the trip?
The daily cycling distances range between 30 and 40 km. Several rests and sightseeing breaks are factored into the journey so that each riding portion is not longer than one hour. The Northern Germany trails and streets are not absolutely flat or even. There are some moderate ascents but the majority of the routes have harmless little hills. You should be physically conditioned to handle such terrain without a problem. For the rare arduous portions or for a day when you just need a break, which no one should be ashamed of, a vehicle to escort you is available.
6. What happens on rainy days?
Generally, we will travel rain or shine, as advertised. Appropriate clothing for various weather conditions should therefore be included as part of your travel gear. Should the entire group unanimously decide not to ride due to inclement weather, velonobilis will provide an alternative program. Under such circumstances, velonobilis has no legal responsibility to provide financial compensation due to changes in the offered program.
