Eastern Holstein Landscape I - VN02P.05
The kempt and noteworthy arrangement of the Panker Estate with its imposing manor home lies only a few kilometres from Lütjenburg. Directly on the property is an absolutely calm historic hotel called “Ole Liese“. As one of the most beautiful hotels in Schleswig-Holstein, it will be the overnight accommodation for the duration of the trip. The estate is owned by the Foundation of Hessian Homes and maintains a horse-breeding farm of the famous East-Prussian "Trakehner" breed. The property itself will be shown and described, but the house will not, because it is a private residence. In the evening, the numerous little shops and galleries on the property will be open for you browse. The cycling journey passes through pretty trails in the diverse territory. There will be a mix of easy climbs, all of which are very manageable. Along the way you will see pre-historic burial mounds, a reproduction of a middle age hillside tower-castle and the early gothic church of Giekau with a grand three-winged altar. The late classical Manor of Waterneversdorf, the Helmstorf Manor in Kossautal and the Neudorf Estate will also be stops along the way. You will have the opportunity to have informative tours of these places as well as to visit the newly renovated Kletkamp Manor. In some instances, the velonobilis groups will have personal tours given by the property owners. Additionally, the program includes a visit to the cultural centre of Salzau, in which L. Bernstein with the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra practiced. We will also visit the technology centre of Blomenburg. For breaks you can turn to the restaurant "Ship of Genua" or make a visit to one of the fishermen on the Lake of Selent.
